Why Bohio

Bohío (Pronounced: boh-ee-oh) means, an original thatched-roof hut or dwelling of the Taíno people in the Caribbean. Over time, the word has come to mean a comfortable, simple, and beloved home or shack—a place of rest and refuge.

"Our family chose the name Bohío because it perfectly captured the spirit of this Ozarks retreat. While our cabin has a sturdy, modern roof, its heart is that of a true Bohío. It’s a place built for simple pleasures: a retreat from the world, a shelter from the storm, and a cozy gathering spot for family and friends.
